Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox so campaign email goes out from your own address. You sign in with Google, so Signalsant never sees your password.
Before you start
- You need the Moderator role or higher in the team.
- Pick the team you want to connect it to in the team switcher.
- Make sure you can sign in to the Google account you want to send from.
Steps
- Open Integrations and click Add integration.
- On Connect a mailbox, choose Gmail. To pick a different provider, click Change.
- Under Connection details, check the Integration name. It's "Gmail" by default; a name such as "Sales Gmail" makes it easier to find later.
- Leave Use the mailbox I authorize switched on. Signalsant reads the address from Google's consent screen, so there's nothing to type.
- Click Continue with Google.
- Sign in to Google and approve access.
- You return to Integrations with the message "Integration connected successfully".
What Signalsant asks Google for
Google asks you to allow two things:
- sending email on your behalf;
- seeing your email address and basic profile.
Signalsant can't read your inbox. Google shows the consent screen every time you connect.
Senders
The address you authorized becomes the first sender and the default sender, labelled with your Google profile name.
To send from aliases too, leave the switch on, connect, then add them on the integration's Senders tab. If you switch it off before connecting, only the addresses you list under Sender emails (with Add email) are added. Include your own address if you want to send from it. The first address in the list becomes the default.
You can change senders later. See Senders and the default sender.
Check it works
Open the integration, go to the Test tab and click Test connection. To see a real message arrive, use Send test email. See Test an integration.
Troubleshooting
- "Select a team before adding an integration": choose a team in the team switcher, then try again.
- "Invalid or expired OAuth state": the sign-in link expires after 10 minutes. Start again from Add integration.
- The new integration has no sender: Signalsant couldn't read the mailbox address. Add the sender on the Senders tab, or delete the integration and connect again, approving every permission on Google's screen.
- The card later shows "Access revoked": Google withdrew access, for example after a password change. See Reconnect a mailbox.
